Why does Wizards of the Coast have to remove my signature from my pieces when they publish their books? Just go ahead and leave it the hell alone.

Man you got some wicked shiz-at goning on here. It would piss me off to if ppl were editing out my name. I mean you work hard to produce this stuff so you should be able to keep your name on your stuff ... right.
Anyway sweet blog ya got here.

what!?! That's just pure wrong. I would understand if your signature was distracting or huge but that is not the case... Anyway, I just got the Machineflesh book and I love the work you did for that challenge.

Thanks guys. I wrote them a letter about it, we'll see what happens.

nathen - yeah that was a piece I did almost a year ago; it was for a cover of something, some sort of book about a specific location for the Dungeons and Dragons world.

dkconcept - yeah, same here; I don't quite understand why they would do that. I guess I don't have a very attractive signature, it's just my last name in 10 point Arial font. Maybe if I put a glow on it or something I don't know...

Glad you enjoyed the machineflesh book!

At a guess here, just in case you haven't heard back from them yet, you probably did not have it mentioned in your contract with them that your signature must be visible. For future projects, you could try and negotiate that your signature is visible and that your name is also credited on the Credits page (I know that I will look for that and so have my art directors in the past).

Nice work!

nardly, i like the small things coming out of his torso, sweeet rendering.

i can see why they would want to take the sig out, seems out of place to me, it takes away the illusion of it being real, my eye is drawn to it and it confirms that this scene and creature are painted. maybe it would be better in the corner, but i think it looks best without...
